I got a Canon S95 camera to replace my stolen SD780is. Manual controls are a huge plus! One cool feature is the “miniature effect” time lapse mode, which is essentially an imitation of Tilt Shift. I decided to give it a shot while filming my fireplace winding down, with a TV reflection in the glass pane. I should have done ~20x, but instead i did 5x and sped it up 400% in Final Cut. Let me know what you think I should use this effect for! I’ve seen it applied well while focused on traffic, pedestrians and such but I’m trying to cook up new ideas for its use. Basically, it blurs the top and bottom and speeds up the recording, creating the illusion of a “miniature” subject.
