(This is a little nothin’ video just to demonstrate CHDK working on the G12.) Got a PowerShot G12 recently, as an upgrade from my older G9. First thing I did? Install CHDK on it of course. With it, I can now focus and zoom while recording video. Of course the camera’s internal microphones pick up that motor noise far too well, but that’s fine with me. I’d rather be able to focus during recording than keep a little noise from being picked up in the audio. Note that each time the camera focuses, I am manually pressing the shutter button to make it do so. Note that the camera is actually shooting in rather low light conditions. This is evening daylight with no inside lights on. Just my computer screens. The G12 sure handles it pretty admirably.
